Clinicians

All of the staff at The Addictions Treatment Center at Prairie View share the core belief that addiction is treatable and recovery is a process that heals mind, body and spirit. With that in mind, treatment is provided through medical, psychological, spiritual and holistic means in order to treat the whole person.

Gary Fast, MD
Psychiatrist
Medical Director

Dr. Gary Fast has board certification in General Psychiatry. He came to Prairie View in 2009 with 17 years of mental healthcare experience. Currently serving as Prairie View’s medical director, Dr. Fast specializes in pharmacologic treatment of depression, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (particularly military-related), anxiety disorders, OCD and bipolar disorder. He is a graduate of the University of Kansas School of Medicine.  Dr. Fast is a member of the American Medical Association and the American Psychiatric Association.

 

  Brad Clark, LMSW, LCAC
Program Director

Brad Clark is a Licensed Master’s Level Social Worker and is a Licensed Clinical Addictions Counselor.  Brad has been with Prairie View since 2010 and he provides individual, couple, group and family therapy services.   He serves as Program Director of the Addictions Treatment Center.

Brad received an Addiction and Prevention Services (AAPS) certification in the state of Kansas in 2005. He has also been trained in Person Centered Case Management.

 

  Shirley Faulkner, LCMFT, LCAC, NCAC-I, Program Consultant

Shirley Faulkner is a Licensed Clinical Marriage and Family Therapist and a Licensed Clinical Addictions Counselor. She has been with Prairie View since 2000 and provides individual, couple, family and group therapy services. Shirley serves as Discipline Head for Prairie View’s Marriage and Family therapists and Licensed Professional Counselors.  She is the Program Consultant for the Addictions Treatment Center, Director of Substance Abuse Programs and supervises the Employee Assistance Programs.

Shirley is a member of the Reno County Drug Court Team and Chair of the Friends University Marriage and Family Therapy Advisory Board.  She serves as a board member of the Kansas Association of Addiction Professionals and is active in legislative policy issues.

 

  Barbara Walker, LSCSW, LCAC
Program Consultant



Barbara Walker is a Licensed Specialist Clinical Social Worker and is a Licensed Clinical Addictions Counselor. She has been with Prairie View since 2008 and provides individual, couple, group and family therapy services.

 

Barbara serves as the social work discipline director and will provide leadership in the executive committee of the Medical and Behavioral Sciences staff.
